Quality of Life Day

The Quality of Life Team planned an outstanding program day focused on the many services and organizations that help make Sevier County a wonderful place to live, work, and thrive.

We kicked off the day at Temple Strong Coffee and 3D Fit House, where owners Waylon and Lessie McCarter treated us to a delicious breakfast while sharing the importance of health and wellness in creating a high quality of life. We also heard from Kendal Baxter, Public Health Educator, and even got our blood pumping with a fun mini workout!

Next, we visited Sevier County Food Ministries, where Executive Director Jim Davis shared how the organization works to ensure our neighbors have access to nutritious food.

At the Sevierville Water Treatment Plant, Travis Russell and Sterling Fisher gave us an informative tour and explained the incredible process behind providing safe, high-quality drinking water to our community.

We then traveled to Smoky Mountain Children’s Home, where Executive Director Walt Mauldin and Co-Executive Director Tammie Mauldin shared how they are making a lasting impact on the next generation. We also heard from Corey Divel, Development Director for the City of Sevierville, who spoke about housing, homelessness, and Habitat for Humanity efforts. Thank you to Smoky Mountain Children’s Home for providing a wonderful lunch!

We wrapped up the day at Dollywood, where Pete Owens, Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations, shared how Dollywood invests in the quality of life of both its hosts and guests. And, of course, we had to end the day with a little fun in the park!

Leadership is about understanding the people, organizations, and services that make a community stronger- and today was a wonderful reminder of what makes Sevier County so special.
